Golf Course Details
Country Club Tasmania proudly joins the growing legacy of golf destinations across Tasmania with the unveiling of the Championship Golf Course. A bold new parklands-style layout that brings a unique dimension to the Tasmanian golf experience.
The Championship Golf Course is undergoing a $20 million transformation. Designed by renowned architect Robin Gibson, the new 18-hole layout is scheduled to open in Summer 2026/27. It will offer a visually stunning and technically challenging experience, blending strategic design with the natural beauty of Tasmania’s inland landscape.
Course Overview
Unlike the rugged coastal links that have defined Tasmania’s global golf reputation, the Championship Golf Course introduces a lush, tree-lined parklands style. Century-old oaks and native bushland frame the fairways. Stone bridges cross over creeks and lakes. Undulating greens and carefully placed bunkers demand precision and strategy. It’s a course that rewards thoughtful play and invites golfers to return again and again, each round revealing new challenges and opportunities.
The name, Championship Golf Course, is a tribute to Country Club Tasmania’s proud history. Originally opened in 1982, the course was designed by Australian golf legend Peter Thomson and architect Michael Wolveridge, and quickly earned a reputation for its blend of links and parkland styles. The new name honours that pedigree while reflecting the resort’s ambition to host elite tournaments and become a destination for serious golfers across Australia and beyond.
